On February 20th, 1997 The Governor General of Jamaica, His Excellency, the Most Honourable Sir Howard Cooke, launched 'The Village of Hope' - a joint venture between The Catholic Diocese of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and The Brenda Strafford Foundation. This project provides a Medical Centre, a Hospice, a half-way house for teenage pregnant girls and women, and an educational and vocational training centre.
